Hire a chef for a night
IMAGINE holding a dinner party and having an award-winning chef cook it for you.
Well, now you can thanks to Chefs For You, a company based in the Lancaster area which specialises in small dinner parties.
Chefs For You provides a personal and professional dining experience in the comfort of your home, taking the stress out of the occasion and leaving you to entertain your guests.
What's more there is no washing up to do at the end of the night.
The business has been set up by chef Chris Dickson.
Chris, who has previously been named the Lancaster Guardian's Top Chef of the Year, has worked at Thurnham Hall Country Club and the Castle Hotel in Hornby.
He has also been featured on TV, in a programme about his return to his old high school in Morecambe to give a special cookery lesson for the pupils.
Chris, who lives in Morecambe, launched Chefs For You after realising he could reach an untapped market.
"I am really passionate about food and wanted to see some fine dining in people's homes," he said.
"There's such a demand out there. People go out to restaurants and they have to pay for taxis and the food and wine can be expensive.
"The host doesn't have to do anything, they can spend their time enjoying their company and the food.
"It takes all the hassle out of it for them."
They will supply all crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, food, cleaning materials and napkins, although they ask hosts to provide wine glasses, table linen and any centre displays they would like on the table.
As an optional extra, they can also provide linen, glasses and candles.
There are a range of menus on offer. Since launching the website last month Chris has already had a few bookings.
"The response has been good so far, but I think a lot of business will come from word of mouth, once people have started going to dinner parties and seeing what we do," he said.
