Laurel Bank Care Home unveil sensory garden
LANCASTER'S Laurel Bank Care Home unveiled their new sensory garden for residents and families on Saturday.
Around 70 residents and guests attended the Westbourne Road care home for the official opening of the garden, which features scented plants, grasses, wind chimes and bird feeders.
The sensory garden is also home to herbs grown by Laurel Bank's own gardening club, and a water feature bought with money from a bequest from former resident Ken Chapman.
Residents and their families were consulted on what they would like to see in the garden. and then gardener Geoff Price drew up plans to obtain a £3000 grant from Borchester Health Care, who own the care home. He and David Ingle then constructed the new garden.
