POLICE in Morecambe have reported a major drop in anti-social behaviour.
Officers in the resort say they received 25% fewer calls in July this year than in the corresponding month last year.

It is a figure that has delighted acting area Inspector Geoff Tagg.

He said: "There has been a substantial fall in the number of calls we have received relating to anti-social behaviour and that is excellent news for us and for the people of Morecambe.

"We have worked hard with a number of local partners such as Poulton Neighbourhood Management and Morecambe Football Club as part of the Summer Nights operation to put in schemes to help reduce the figures and working closely together has no doubt helped produce some excellent results.''
