WASTE collection services are set to change over the next month due to a proposed strike by workers.
Lancaster City Council has announced some local government officers have elected to take part in national industrial action over pay on July 16 and 17.
Those customers who would normally have their refuse collected on that Wednesday or Thursday w
ill receive a leaflet through their door this weekend, detailing alternative arrangements that have been put in place.
Grey wheelie bins will not be emptied on those days, however there will be grey bin collections the week immediately before and after the strike.
Green wheeled bins will not be collected until early August to enable the council to collect the grey bins.
Free biodegradable garden bags will be available from Lancaster and Morecambe customer service centres and White Lund Depot, Morecambe, from Monday.
Recycling and plastic box collections will also not take place during the week of the strike.
It is thought the strikes may affect some other city council services.
