Police warn of thieves targeting OAPs

Police are advising residents in the Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands and Hest Bank areas to be vigilant after two burglaries took place in the space of an hour.
The first occurred on Monday at about 4.30pm in Windermere Road, Carnforth, when cash was stolen from the house of an elderly lady.

Police believe that two men were working together, one chatting to the victim outside the house, while the other went inside and stole steal the money.

Some 15 minutes later an elderly lady awoke to find two men in her house in Marine Drive, Hest Bank. They ran off with £700 cash, a Post Office pension card and her purse.

One of the men is described as being around 40 years old, with a broad forehead, and wearing a jumper with horizontal stripes.
