A DARING thief sneaked into the back of a Lancaster home while residents watched television in the living room in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The man was disturbed and left stealing only £10 worth of tobacco from the Melrose Street home.

Residents believed it was their son in the kitchen but instead discovered a white male, around 5ft 6ins tall, with mousy brown hair, wearing a pale blue polo shirt.

Anyone with any information should call Lancaster Police Station on 01524 63333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
