AARON Taylor has followed in his dad's footsteps by joining the Morecambe first team squad.
Aaron Taylor has followed in his dad's footsteps by joining the Morecambe first team squad.

The prolific 18-year-old, who scored four goals for English Colleges against Rhyl last week, signed a one-year deal at Christie Park on Monday.

And watching him sign his new contract was dad David, who made a handful of appearances for the Shrimps in 1987-88.

David went on to play for Colne before spending five years at Netherfield where he had a spell under the management of Dave Edge, the current Morecambe physio.

His son Aaron has already appeared for the Shrimps, coming off the bench to score the fourth goal in the win over Lancaster City in the 2006-07 Lancashire Cup.

After finishing top scorer for the club's Under 18s, he joins Matthew Bell in signing a professional contract.
