THE Barmy Army are coming to Lancaster Cricket Club for a special day of cricketing fun for all the family on Sunday.
In a day full of activities at Lune Road, former England cricketers Derek Randall and Tim Munton will star as a Barmy Army team play a Lancaster XI in a 20/20 clash at 2pm.

Among those joining the team will be darts player Alan Warriner-Little, pr
olific Northern League cricket Grahame Clarke with more surprises still to be confirmed.

The day will start with an Under 16 match between a Lancaster Royal Grammar School side and a Lancaster Schools team.

As well as the two matches, there will be a host of competitions to enter such as longest throw and hitting the wicket as well as coaching sessions.

There will be face painting, a bouncy castle, barbecue, refreshments and an all-day bar. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children.

All the money raised will be used by Lancaster Cricket Club and by local schools to promote cricket to children, both boys and girls, as part of the Chance to Shine campaign.

Dave Speak, from the organising team, said: "This event is all done for the children in Lancaster and the surrounding area. It is us as a cricket club putting something into the community.

"This is a fun day for all the family, showing that Lancaster Cricket Club is there for the whole of the community and we want people to come down and have a look."

The event has been supported by LPN and will feature on Bay Radio during the afternoon.
