OFFICIALS at West Lancashire League champions Garstang FC are hoping to finalise a shortlist for their new manager soon.
The club are looking to recruit a manager who will continue the impressive work of Gary Hargreaves and his assistant Scott Somerside who resigned last month.

Under Hargreaves and Somerside, the club won promotion to the Premier Division and last season won the title for the first time in the club's history.

A club spokesman said: "Gary and Scott did a great job for the club and have left us with a strong player base and in a very healthy position.

"They have put Garstang FC on the map and whilst we are sad to see them go we must respect their decision and move forward.

"The club is ambitious and keen to build on the recent success. The committee are working hard to find the right person to take the club forward and do not want to rush into an appointment.

"We are looking to attract someone experienced enough to maintain the progress that has been made on the field under Gary."

At present no-one has been offered the position however club officials are looking to draw up a shortlist of candidates with the intention of approaching people in the near future.

Anyone who would like to be considered for the shortlist is advised to call Marc Armstrong on 01995 602426 or 07908 832886.

* THE West Lancashire League will be sponsored by Sports 360 for the next two seasons. Sports 360 are a sports advertising business.
