YOUNG cricketers have the chance to learn from Lancashire captain Glen Chapple at a special summer course in Lancaster.
Westgate Cricket Club in Powderhouse Lane in Lancaster will host the Glen Chapple Cricket Coaching Course from Tuesday, July 28 to Thursday, July 30 from 10am to 3pm.

The course, which costs £65, will be delivered by experienced, qualified coaches.

Glen Chapple, who will be on hand to help with the coaching, has designed the content of the course to allow beginners to gain sound cricket technique and enjoy fun games, while more advanced players will have the opportunity to experience some of the training methods and skills used by professional cricketers at Old Trafford and within the England team.

In his career with Lancashire and England, Glen has taken almost 700 first class wickets at an average of 27 and scored over 6,000 runs at an average of almost 25.

The course is open to boys and girls between the ages of nine and 16. For further information, or to book a place on the course, contact Mike Smethurst on 07801 812 402 or email glenchapplecricketcoaching@hotmail.co.uk
