Lancaster athlete Mark Croasdale was a member of a three-man relay team that travelled to Llanwrytd Wells, Mid Wales for the 29th Annual Man Verse Horse Marathon.
The race is held over rough terrain and is 22 miles long, with over 4,000 feet of ascent. In the race there were over 300 individual runners, over 50 relay teams and 42 horses.

The Marines led the race from the top of the first hill and went on to win by over seven minutes, with Croasdale bringing the team home on the last leg.

They hope to go again next season and retain their title.

Results: 1 Royal Marines 2hr 11m 25sec; 2 Duke Touch of Fun (horse) 2hr 18m 13sec; 3 John McFarlane (runner) 2hr 18m 43sec.
