MORECAMBE Cricket Club could go a long way towards clinching a memorable double this weekend with two big matches at Woodhill Lane.
After a busy Bank Holiday weekend, Morecambe are locked on 184 points with Saturday's visitors Blackpool, only a point behind leaders Kendal.

On Sunday, Morecambe are back in cup mode as they entertain Preston in the final of The Furness Building Society League Cup.

Morecambe comfortable dispatched Leyland last Sunday at Woodhill Lane in the semi-final. Wickets are pitched at 1pm on Sunday.

Matches in Saturday's 3D Sports Northern League programme start at the earlier time of 12.30pm.

As well as Morecambe's clash with Blackpool, Lancaster host fellow strugglers Darwen and Carnforth host Netherfield with Wayne Madsen returning as sub pro.

Morecambe will be without Gareth Pedder as he is on holiday while Phil Thornton will only play on Sunday due to a hamstring niggle.
