Morecambe will again travel to Preston North End, hoping to repeat their brilliant success of two seasons ago in the Carling Cup first round.
The draw pitched the two Lancashire sides together again at Deepdale and the Shrimps will be looking for another shock against the Championship side in the tie which will be played in the week beginning August 10.

Goals from skipper Jim Bentley an
d his centre-back partner Dave Artell secured a 2-1 win in 2007.

And Morecambe have also arranged a friendly with Premier League new-boys Burnley on Tuesday, July 14.

* Morecambe's last ever competitive game at Christie Park (barring a possible play-off semi-final) will be against Aldershot Town.

As League Two fixtures were announced on Wednesday, The Shrimps discovered they had been given home games for the opening and last games of this historic last season at the old ground.

For the 2010/11 season Morecambe will move to a new stadium at Westgate and the current Christie Park site will, planning permission pending, become a new Sainsbury's store.

The Shrimps kick off the new season on August 8 with a home game against Hereford United.

This year's Boxing Day fixture sees the visit to Christie Park of Lancashire rivals, Accrington Stanley, with Morecambe travelling to Macclesfield on January 2 for the other festive season match.
