THE district's cricketers face another frustrating day on the sidelines this Saturday with the weather set to deny them any action.
All cricket in the area was washed out on Saturday and with more rain this week and further showers forecast, it could be a similar story at the weekend.

Lancaster and Morecambe are both in action on Saturday in the 3D Sports Northern League. Lancaster at home to Chorley and Morecambe at Kendal.
Morecambe also have a Furness Building Society League Cup semi-final on Sunday against Leyland (1.30pm).

Due to a washout at Woodhill Lane last Sunday, Morecambe had to have a bowlout with Kendal in their cup second round match. Alex Thistlethwaite and Ryan Smith hit the stumps to see them through 2-1.
But Morecambe player Tommy Clough was not too optimistic.

He said on Wednesday: "We spent five hours on it on Sunday and there was still a big lake on one side of the ground.

"That's still there and if it rains again before Saturday, we will be unlikely to play."

Phil Thornton has been selected for Sunday's cup match in place of Thistlethwaite.

It was a similar bleak picture at Lune Road where captain Dave Heywood said the ground was 'absolutely saturated'.

He said: "Last Saturday was dreadful and this Saturday could be exactly the same but there's nothing we can do about it.

"Chorley have done quite well this season but we know if we play well, there is no reason why we can't beat them.

"We are just hoping and praying that the weather forecasts are wrong and we can get a game on."

Morecambe 2nd will attempt to play their delayed Furness Building Society League Cup game with Kendal 2nd on Sunday.

Carnforth do not have a game this weekend.
