NOW that spring is well and truly here why not join the Lancaster and District Con-servation Volunteers for their forthcoming projects?
Over the winter's work volunteers completed 150 metres of hedge-laying and planted a new coppice.
The planned workdays (all Sundays) are as follows:
MAY 11Dry-stone walling at Hazel-wood Farm in Silverdale to help maintain st
ock boundaries and improve key landscape features.
MAY 25A chance to see how the winter's hedge-laying and tree-planting has done at Bel-mount Farm in Slyne. Man-aging and maintaining is a crucial part of the work.
JUNE 1More dry-stone walling at Hazelwood Farm; it takes time to hone your skills.
JUNE 15Summer maintenance of Torrisholme and Great Wood Schools nature reserves.
JULY 2Dry-stone walling at Hazelwood Farm.
The pick-ups will be at the Shrimp roundabout at 9.15am and Royal Lancaster Infirm-ary bus stop at 9.30am, by arrangement.
