MPS are queueing up to stay at the Midland Hotel when it opens, according to Geraldine Smith.
Morecambe's MP told The Visitor the impending grand opening of the art deco attraction has "generated a lot of interest" in the Commons with at least four Labour MPs showing interest in coming to Morecambe to stay there.

They include Alan Meale, member for Mansfield, Lindsay Hoyle of Chorley, Austin Mitchell of Grimsby and former Government Minister Frank Field, MP for Birkenhead.

"Lots of them have been asking about it," said Geraldine.

"Frank Field especially loves the Midland. He stayed there when it was owned by Les Whittingham.

"He loves the art deco and the Eric Gill. I'll be interested to see what he thinks of the new Midland."

Keep an eye on The Visitor over the coming weeks as we bring you the latest developments on the grand opening of the Midland Hotel.
