A WOMAN police sergeant accused of assaulting her son has had the first hearing of her case at court.
Gaynor Bates-Haigh, aged 49, of Longlands Avenue, Hey-sham, is alleged to have assaulted son Kyle, an RAF serviceman, on June 7 this year.
Bates-Haigh, who is stationed at Lancaster, was not present at the hearing before Blackpool magistrates.
A letter from her lawyers stated she was pleading not guilty to the offence of assault on her son.
Magistrates adjourned the case for trial on November 28.
