MORECAMBE'S second annual Sandcas-tle Festival will take place on Sunday (August 10).
The day will not only include sandcastle building but also free seaside entertainment allowing all to rediscover the simple pleasures of the seaside.

Professional artists creating fantastic sculptures will provide inspiration for competitors in the Morecambe Super Sandcastle Competition, which is open to adults' and children's teams with prizes for the winners.

The entertainment comes in the form of the Beach Variety Theatre which has the traditional Punch and Judy shows on offer, among other things.

There is also the 1920s Bathing Belles who will be performing a beach drill with synchronised manoeuvres, as well as the Amazing Strangelings' Ancient Mariners.

Last year's festival, the first-ever, has recently received coverage in the nationally-syndicated Coast magazine.

Despite some torrential rain the previous day, the weather held off to make sure the festival was a roaring success.
