A LATE goal from Jimmy Ryan saw the Shrimps slump to a second defeat against Accrington this season.
Ryan scored with a superb volley seven minutes from time to see John Coleman's side maintain their hoodoo over the Shrimps.

Morecambe started well and took the lead on 16 minutes when Neil Wainwright ran into the box and cross low for Dave Artell to slide home from close range.

But from there it was all Stanley who levelled on 27 minutes. Michael Symes had the first chance when his hos shot was well saved by Barry Roche but Robert Grant followed up to slide home the rebound.

Symes was denied a Stanley second a few moments later when he was denied by an excellent save from Roche.

The second half saw the Shrimps gpo ahead for a second time when Artell diverted a Craig Stanley free kick past Dean Bouzanis.

But Accrington hit back with Grant scoring his second with a fine free kick from the edge of the area that beat Roche low to his right.

Roche then denied Stanley on three occasions with neat saves before Ryan clinched the points with his late stunner.

Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy made two changes for the game with Manny Panther and Neil Wainwright coming in and Michael Twiss and Wayne Curtis dropping to the bench.
