A LATE goal from Ricky Sappleton denied Morecambe victory at Moss Rose tonight.
The Macclesfield striker scored with seven minutes to go to rob the Shrimps of a second successive League 2 win.
After trailing 1-0 at the break the Shrimps came out strongly in the second half and scored twice in quick succession to turn the game
on its head.
Stewart Drummond levelled on 52 minutes with a sweetly struck volley before Will Haining put the Shrimps ahead 12 minutes later with a superbly worked goal.
Dave Artell then came close to scoring a third for the Shrimps with a header that was cleared off the line by Carl Tremarco.
It was a goal from Craig Lindfield on 38 minutes that gave Macclesfield the lead at the break.
Lindfield, who had a trial with the Shrimps earlier in the season, slid in to convert Lee Bell's cross from close range to break the deadlock.
Before that the Shrimps came close to opening the scoring with Michael Twiss forcing John Brain into two early saves and the Macclesfield keeper tipping away a well struck Stewart Drummond effort.
Macclesfield looked sharp up front themselves however with Lindfield twice volleying over and Ricky Sappleton forcing Bary Roche into a smart save from a close range header.
