CONNOR Prince, just nine-years-old, recently became the youngest ever black belt for local martial arts club, Kuk Sool Won of Lancaster.
The local lad has been training in this fascinating martial art for over four years, since the age of five. Connor followed his parents, Angela and Paul, into the art and has never looked back.

Instructor, John Ward, said: "Connor is an excellent student. He has overcome a lot of obstacles to achieve this high rank. But he has never given up, and has proved that he has got what it takes. I really hope and believe that he will continue training and go on to achieve even higher levels. I am very, very proud of him."

Connor proved his abilities recently, when he took part in two major competitions, in Scotland and Kings Lynn, winning six medals.
Connor's mother and club instructor said: "It's great to see Connor doing well at competitions, but we are even more thrilled with his achievement of becoming the club's youngest black belt. We hope his success can inspire other children to work hard and reach their own goals."

Despite the club's competition successes, instructor and school owner John Ward says: "Of course, not everyone wants to take part in such events. Many just want a fun way to get fit or learn to defend themselves in a safe, positive, friendly atmosphere. For many, coming to class is a social event and Kuk Sool Won is also an activity which the whole family can do together."

The club has premises off White Lund Road, Morecambe and classes five days a week. Contact John on 851370/07979544466, or martialartsinmorecambe.co.uk
