SAMMY McIlroy has added six names to his squad in the last six days as preparations for the new season continue apace at Christie Park.
As predicted in last week's Visitor, right-sided midfielder Neil Wainwright and goalkeeper Barry Roche completed deals last Wednesday from Darlington and Chesterfield respectively.

And on Monday night, Bury defender Andy Parrish and right-sided player Ryan McCann, from Queen of the South, sealed moves.

They were joined by ex-Morecambe High pupil Aaron Taylor and former Ripley St Thomas student Matthew Bell, who have graduated from the club's youth scheme.

Morecambe boss McIlroy said: "The squad is shaping up nicely now. It is not long until we return to training and I'm really looking forward to working with all the new lads."

"Both Neil and Barry have good Football League experience which is what we have been looking for and I look forward to working with both players.

"I am really happy to get Ryan and Andy on board as well and the young lads, Aaron and Matthew, have real potential."

This week's arrivals are not expected to be the last at Christie Park with Shrimps officials understood still to be in negotiations with a midfielder and at least one striker.
