A NEW £22 million business park could boost Carnforth's economy, developers say.
Manchester-based Peterloo Estates want to open a new 191,000 sq ft development and they say the town, close to junction 35 of the M6, is the perfect base.

The property firm has applied to Lancaster City Council to build the facility for around 20
to 30 businesses in almost 10 acres of undeveloped land situated in Kellet Road.
Stephen Barker, director at Peterloo, said the park would offer the chance for thriving local firms to buy or rent units and grow their businesses.

He added: "We know there are some local businesses who are interested and the interest is from owner-driven businesses and people who are based in the area in under-sized accommodation and who want to expand.

"Then we have got other companies who may be national companies and who want to locate in that area.

"We think there are three drivers here. The growing confidence in the local economy in North Lancashire, the general supply of business accommodation in the area, which is limited, and the proximity of this site to the M6, which is a very important corridor."

Lancaster property firm Fisher Wrathall will also be helping Peterloo with filling units at the development, added Mr Barker.

Bosses hope to get planning permission for the site by late spring.
