A CHEQUE for £3687.76 was presented to the Cumbria Flood Recovery Fund by local company Westmorland Limited based in Tebay to help those affected by the extreme floods in Cumbria last November.
In addition to collection boxes throughout the business, a specially designed duck shaped biscuit, home made by the Westmorland bakery team was sold at Tebay Services north and southbound, J38 Services, The Westmorland Hotel, and The Rheged Centre near Penrith, with all proceeds going to the flood appeal.
Money was also collected at the preview screening of the Rory Stewart BBC documentary 'The legacy of Lawrence of Arabia' which was held at The Rheged Centre.
Westmorland Limited's Chief Executive Sarah Dunning presented the cheque to Andy Beeforth, director of Cumbria Community Foundation who said: "The generosity of Westmorland's customers and staff has been incredible. I'd like to say a big thank you on behalf of everyone who will benefit from the fund."
