DOCKER Park Farm is on the market for £1million after the owners made the decision to retire.
After 18 years at the popular farm and tourist attraction near Arkholme, Geoffrey and Hilary Ford have decided the time is right for them to move on.

They hope someone will buy the working farm and visitor centre, with a view to continuing their business.

Geoffrey said: "We just felt now was the right time to go, but it is looking positive that it will carry on.

"We have been here for 18 years and when we began we were the first farm of our kind in the area.

"There were bad times when we had to shut down due to the foot-and-mouth outbreak.

"However there have been many more good times than bad and we have met so many nice people. We are certainly going to stay local when we leave here."

Docker Park Farm is on the market with Fine and Country estate agents.

It includes a small farm-visitor centre and a four-bedroom farm house with various barns and outbuildings.

The site also boasts 12 acres of land including gardens, grazing fields and a fishing lake.
