THIS year's Fell Gather on Saturday, June 13 at Mitchell's Lakeland Livestock Centre, Cockermouth is all set to be a great celebration of all that's good about Cumbrian food, farming and rural life.
Celebrating food and drink from the local landscape and all aspects of Lakeland farming, the event will feature cookery demonstrations by local celebrity chefs throughout the day, as well as the finals of the Made in Cumbria Traditional Cumberland Sa
usage competition
Celebrity chefs taking part are Annette Gibbons of Cumbria on a Plate, Ricky Andalcio of Zest in Whitehaven and John Crouch from Wigton.

The finalists for the Traditional Cumberland Sausage competition include John Dawson at Greystone House Farm, Stainton, Mr T Hodgson of Cottage Pie at Dearham, Graham Gordon of Carlisle and Kerry Pollard of Slacks at Orton.

Cumbria Farmer Network is also planning a series of farm walks, one this weekend in Ennerdale, and three next weekend that also tie in with Open Farm Day in Cumbria.

Visitors have the chance to visit Wellington Farm, where they make ice cream using milk from their Jersey cows.

The day's activities will begin at 9am. Entrance is just £5 for adults, accompanied children free and there will be plenty of free parking. More details: see www.cumbriafarmernetwork.co.uk.
