NORA Batty look-a-likes were out in force in Burton-in-Lonsdale last week.
A competition held by the village shop and post office proved popular with residents, who gamely donned outfits befitting of the Last of the Summer Wine character.

The contest followed last year's event, which found hidden talents among Burton's menfolk, who dressed up as the male characters from the BBC show.

The winners featured on a postcard sold in the village shop which proved so popular it was decided to hold a female version this year.

And villager Jane Burns was voted the top Nora Batty by entrants from last year's competition.

She will now feature on a brand new postcard, alongside the men.
Shop manager Karen Padgett said: "It went really well, it was really good fun.

"We now have plans for a Calendar Boys event next year if we can find enough men who are brave enough to take part."
