LAUGHTER and practical jokes continue to abound at Brantwood this summer, when Illyria present the second of their two summer outdoor theatre shows – Pinocchio.
Performed in Brantwood's grounds on the shores of Coniston Water next Wednesday, August 20, this is your chance to catch this classic story in a riotous and exciting new open-air show.

With the combination of the Illyria company's brilliant and imaginative performances and Brantwood's stunning location and magnificent views this performance is not to be missed.

Created in 1991, Illyria has been delighting audiences across Britain, Europe, the United States and Canada for the last 17 years. Illyria's mission is to create a varied programme of outstandingly enjoyable theatre and to enable everyone to see it. Under the artistic directorship of Oliver Gray, the Company has won several international awards for its lively and innovative approach to outdoor theatre.

Brantwood's general manager, Rachel Litten said: "Brantwood is delighted to welcome Illyria back to perform their 17th season. In recent years we have seen a record number of people attend the shows and enjoy the wonderful setting of Brantwood's lakeside meadow. Just five actors play all the roles and their performances are imaginative, entertaining and fun."

Pinocchio starts at 7pm. Gates open at 6pm so bring a picnic to enjoy before the performance. The show will finish at around 9pm.

Event ticket prices are: £9.50/adults, £6.50/child/student and tickets can be purchased in advance from Brantwood. The performances will take place in the open-air, so audiences are advised to bring low-backed chairs and/or rugs (and insect repellent!).
