MEMBERS of the the Kendal Twinning Association including Mayor Claire Feeney Johnston and daughter Sascha have recently returned from a very successful visit to the Altstadtfest in Rinteln, during which a stall and information display of all things Kendal created a great interest at the weekend long event.
This was followed by a visit to Kendal by 16 trainee nurses from the Rinteln area.

They spent the next five days in and around Kendal visiting Westmorland General and spending some time with local GPs to experience the workings of the NHS.

During their stay they were hosted by local families and had plenty of free time to explore the area accompanied by members of the Kendal twinning committee.

On their final evening, the visitors attended a buffet supper and social evening at Kendal Cricket Club where, as in the past on such visits, they may have been introduced to the finer points of cricket by willing volunteers from the association and members of KCC.

Later in the year there will be a return of the Rinteln Karnival society and dancers who will return again to take part in the Torchlight procession.

Also planned for October is the ad hoc party of Rintelners on a purely goodwill and sight-seeing visit.
