PENNY Bridge School at Greenodd, Ulverston is practicing its 3 R's today Tuesday, May 13 when all 93 pupils, their teachers, friends and families walk to the Greenodd Village Post Office to send off their letters of protest to Post Office Ltd.
Every child at the school – from Reception to Year 6 has written an individual letter to Richard Lynds, the architect of the Cumbria Post Office closure plan. The entire school community will walk down to the Post Office with signs and banners, car
rying their letters to post "It's been a great experience for the children," said Lynn Smolinski, Head teacher at Penny Bridge C of E School.
"The children are very interested in the fate of our village Post Office and for the older ones it's an exploration into how the world around us works.
"It's never too soon to understand the importance of having a voice. Small schools and small communities have to work together."

WRITING: each child has hand written a letter explaining what Greenodd Post Office means to them and why it should remain in full operation.
'RITHMATIC: counting up 93 students, nine staff and a big number of parents, grandparents, friends and carers who will support and chaperone the children. That's a lot of people with opinions!
