A LEADING concert ticket sales company has been left red-faced after a website claimed that music megastar Rihanna would perform at the Globe Arena in Morecambe.

Ticketmaster has apologised after Getmein.com mistakenly listing Morecambe FC’s stadium as part of Rihanna’s upcoming world tour – alongside venues in major European cities Milan, Zurich, Turin and Paris.

The Ticketmaster-owned website had the singer down to appear in Morecambe on Tuesday, November 1, at 7pm. But Rihanna is actually performing on November 1 at the Globe Arena... in Sweden.

Ticketmaster somehow managed to mix up the Shrimps’ Westgate ground with the 16,000-capacity Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, the largest hemispherical building in the world and home to major pop concerts from the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Lady Gaga.
