Galgate racer Murphy seals double podium

A Galgate racer picked up two podiums in the latest round of the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Supercup Championship.

Liam Murphy finished third in both races at the Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk to leave him fourth in the championship.

Race one saw the 18-year-old challenge for the lead after a safety car deployment only for a gearbox problem to halt his progress meaning he had to settle for third.

In a wet second race Murphy was in fourth before passing Simon Goddard to seal a double podium.

The championship moves onto Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire, this weekend, where the teenager will be hoping to get on the top step.
