AT Fell Foot Wood on the shores of Lake Windermere near Newby Bridge there is the fun of bandsa by the lake.
This one is the brainchild of owner Barry Houghton (aka Barry The Obscure) and Leeds-based movers and shakers Forest of Sound.

Bands playing include: Lake, Hub, Phantom, John Fairhurst, Death in Public, Mirrorkill, The Declining Winter, Glissando,
Dan Haywood's New Hawks and plenty of others.

(The amazing In Gowan Ring are also booked to perform the next event there in September).

The high concept is to give hip city slickers the opportunity to experience the same sort of beautiful music they can at venues like Dulcimer in Manchester but in an even more beautiful woodland setting overlooking Lake Windermere.

Kind of like a psychedelic Leeds Children's Holiday Camp with acid-folk replacing the gingangooly singalong. Idyllic…

Anyway, it's happening on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30 at Fell Foot Wood, and tickets cost just £16 weekend pass/£9 day pass and £2 per day per vehicle.

Booking must be made in advance from Barry on 01539 531014.

I'm reckoning this may be the gig of the summer, so book early.
