AS the Lake District Visitor Centre prepares to throw open its doors six weeks earlier than usual, a Brockhole bolthole beckons.
A longer season at the site on the shores of Windermere means more people than ever can enjoy the grounds, exhibitions, café and shop.

According to Brockhole team leader Nicky Wood, the early half term holiday provides the perfect opportunity to start the 2008 season on February 9.

She said: "Last year we experimented with winter opening and found customers really appreciated being able to come indoors after enjoying the grounds, and visit the exhibitions and shop.

"This year, we are going the extra mile, making sure our cosy café is also ready to welcome everyone with a warming winter menu. We look forward to seeing old friends along with many more new faces."
