AROUND 200 people joined the new Mayor of Lancaster on a charity Cross Bay Walk over the bank holiday weekend.
Mayor Coun Keith Budden, with the Queens Guide Cedric Robinson led the group across the sands on Sunday, May 25 to raise money in aid of the Mayor's charities (Morecambe Bay Partnership, North West Air Ambulance and Bolton-le-Sands Pre School).

Setting off from Arnside at 9am the walk took approx three hours finishing at Kents Bank Railway station.

Mayor Coun Keith Budden said: "I was very pleased with the turnout in support of my chosen charities, it was a fantastic day and we were blessed with some sunshine, although the strong wind meant it was a little chilly! I must thank Queens Guide Cedric Robinson for leading the walk and hope that all those that attended really enjoyed themselves"

Further walks are planned in the future and if you would like any information for other fund raising events please contact the Mayor's office on 01524 582070 or email mayor@lancaster.gov.uk
