Opera moves to the big screen

GLYNDEBOURNE Opera is coming to the local cinema screens with two productions of Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel and Rossini's Le Cenerentola.
Humperdinck's Hansel Und Gretel is directed by Laurent Pelly (in German with English subtitles) and is The first ever Glyndebourne Production of Engelbert Humperdinck's masterpiece based on the Grimm Brothers tale. Laurent Pelly's fresh and witty production of Hänsel und Gretel comes fresh from it's debut at the 2008 Festival.
It is showing at the Royalty, Bowness-on-Windermere on Sunday, November 30 at 3pm.
Rossini's La Cenerentola (Cinderella), directed by Sir Peter Hall's sensitive and intelligent production of Rossini's much-loved comic opera features Ruxandra Donose as the downtrodden heroine with Maxim Mironov as her 'Prince Charming'.
It is showing at the Royalty, Bowness-on-Windermere on Sunday, December 14, 2.30pm.
All tickets are £10, tickets available in advance from each cinema.
