WITH the festive season behind us and spring just around the corner, Theatre by the Lake has a double helping of drama lined up for theatre enthusiasts with a 'pairing' of two classic plays.
In March and April it is thrilled to present The Recruiting Officer and Our Country's Good; the 20th anniversary of the 1988 production of the two plays at The Royal Court Theatre in London.
The Recruiting Officer by George Farquhar is set in Shrewsbury 1704; the officers are in search of new recruits for the English army, whilst the ladies embark on a campaign of military proportions to woo their men.
With both plays performed by the same company of 10 actors, many of whom have performed at Theatre by the Lake before, this 'pairing' of plays offers audiences a truly unique theatre experience.
With backstage tours and turnarounds, the theatre's café and two exhibition spaces, Theatre by the Lake can offer much more than just an evening's entertainment. Visit
www.theatrebythelake.com for more information.
Shake off the lethargy of overindulgence and book now for a spring season that promises twice the amount of entertainment.
What's more, to encourage audiences to make the most of the opportunity to see both linked plays, the venue is offering a fantastic ticket deal – book for both plays at the same time and get the best seats available for both productions for just £25.
Tickets for both plays must be booked and paid for at the same time.
